Our Story

Why we started Robotics Team Outfitters

At Robotics Team Outfitters (RTO), we believe every robotics team deserves to look professional, no matter their size, mentor count, or budget. Too often, smaller teams struggle to access custom gear without large minimum order requirements—whether it’s a single t-shirt, name badge, banner, or promotional giveaway.

That’s why we founded Robotics Team Outfitters: to provide teams with access to high-quality apparel, signage, and merchandise—whether they need one item or one hundred.

Outside of Robotics Team Outfitters, Brian and Dave each maintain full-time careers. Brian is a full-time airline pilot for Spirit Airlines and the sole owner of St. Louis Printworks, while Dave is a Digital Accessibility Team Leader at Edward Jones and a disabled U.S. Army veteran. Together, we founded RTO because of our commitment to helping teams who don’t always have the means to create the professional, competition-ready image they deserve.

“Every robotics team deserves to look professional, no matter their size.”

Meet the Founders

Brian Menier

Custom Printing Expert & Robotics Advocate

Brian is a full-time airline pilot for Spirit Airlines and the sole owner of St. Louis Printworks. His journey into robotics team branding began when his daughter joined Ratchet Rockers Robotics Team 1706. Brian became a mentor and sponsor, continuing to support teams and the next generation of STEM leaders.

Dave Wright

U.S. Army Veteran & Former FIRST Robotics Mentor

Dave is a disabled U.S. Army veteran and a Digital Accessibility Team Leader at Edward Jones. He spent five years mentoring students on Ratchet Rockers Robotics Team 1706, helping them secure sponsorships and build a strong team identity.

Together, Brian and Dave rebranded the Ratchet Rockers, helping them become one of the most recognized robotics teams in the St. Louis region, while building lasting relationships with teams and the FIRST in Missouri community.
